臺澳花費大不同

The cost of living in Australia is very high compared to Taiwan. If you were working in Australia, this would be no problem. But as a holidaymaker, you might find your bank account being drained faster than you anticipated.

For example, public transport in Sydney and Melbourne costs AU$15 (NT$350) per day; for that cost, you could travel a long way on a bus or train in Taiwan! A coffee is about AU$4 (NT$100), while a basic lunch with a drink would be at least AU$10 (NT$230). An average dinner would leave you AU$25-30 (NT$550-700) out of pocket – even more for a better meal !

Museums, views from the tallest buildings, zoos …… the prices will scare you, especially because these are often free or cheap in Taiwan. An adult ticket at Taipei Zoo costs NT$60; the same ticket to an Australian Zoo is about the same number – but in Australian dollars (NT$1,350)!
