化繁為簡，句子才好懂

1 他很會唱歌。
(X) He is good at singing songs.
(O) He is good at singing.
sing 這個字本身就是「唱歌」，除非特別指出唱什麼歌，否則不用加受詞 (songs)。
I like singing. / I like reading. / I like drinking. 我喜歡唱歌。/ 我喜歡看書。/ 我喜歡喝酒。
中文裡面，這幾個動作要把受詞 ( 歌、書、酒 ) 講完語意才完整，但英文不用。 

2. 雖然這份工作很無趣，但至少薪水很高。
(X) Although this job is boring, but at least you are well-paid.
(O) Although this job is boring, at least you are well-paid. 
英文句子裡，兩個子句用一個連接詞連結，連接詞 although 和 but擇一即可。 台灣人最常錯的連接詞，除了「雖然、但是」，另外就是「因為、所以」。 

3. 我牙齒痛。
(X) I feel the pain of my tooth.
(O) I have a toothache.
第一句不是文法錯，而是太冗長;英文牙痛就是 toothache、頭痛 headache、胃痛 stomachache。 

4. 他的聲音比實際年齡年輕。
(X) His voice sounds young for his age.
(O) He sounds young for his age.
sound 是「聽起來」本身就是「聲音」聽起來，不用多加 his voice。 套用在「外表看起來」也一樣，例句: 你的外表比實際年齡小太多了吧! 

5. 船正在快速地下沈。
(X) The ship is sinking down very fast.
(O) The ship is sinking very fast.
sink「向下沈」本身就有方向性，不需要加介系詞 down

6. 我是根據過往經驗做這個決定的。
(X) I made this decision based on my previous experience.
(O) I made this decision based on my experience.
經驗一定是過去累積的，不需要加 previous ( 過往的 ) 強調。常畫蛇添足的字還有 free gift、future plan，直接用 gift( 禮物 )、plan( 計畫 ) 就好。
