學譬喻=理解英語文化：想法與時間
文字、想法有滋味
想法可以未經烹煮(raw ideas)、 資訊可以被食用(eat up)、咀嚼(chew)。
IDEA = FOODS
That idea is half-baked.
那個點子還半生不熟。
Let me chew on that for a while.
給我點時間咀嚼那個資訊。
I need more time to digest the information.
我需要多點時間來消化那個資訊。
My boss gave me some brain candy.
我的老闆給了我一些補腦品(有啟發性的想法)。
時間有動能
時間在英文用法中，常被視為會移動的物體，把「經歷過」的時間或事件，看做離我們遠去（fly、go)；「尚未經歷」的看做往我們的方向走來（arrive、approach、come）。
TIME = MOVING OBJECT
Time flies.
時光飛逝。
The time for action has arrived.
採取行動的時間到了。
Time passes so quickly when you're having fun.
快樂的時光總是過得特別快。
Time has gone by so quickly.
時間走得很快。
The deadline is approaching and I have not finished my work.
最後期限快到了，而我還沒完成工作。
