狠！態度肯定，說話就有自信
美國文化中的個人主義（individualism）較不強調位階關係（Low power distance），畢恭畢敬的態度會顯出關係上的不對等，也容易塑造沒主見的形象。多禮貌才不會顯得太拘謹？如何隨興才不至於太隨便？下面的例句告訴你該如何展現自己的主體性：
請求幫忙並不是錯事，不需要一開口就先「歹謝」。
△ Can you help me?（太直接）
△ Sorry for bothering you, but I need help.（太禮貌）
O Will you help me with this?（正常詢問）
O I need your help.（對熟人）
O Could you do me a favor?（禮貌）
美國人習慣插話不是因為沒禮貌，是他們的文化鼓勵每個人勇於表達，從不插話反而會被認為你參與性很低或是根本沒有想法。記得抓準時機，適時插話！
△ I totally agree with you.（話題終止）
△ I have come to the same conclusion.（話題終止）
O I love your idea but that’s not entirely true.（先認同，再延伸）
