別怕!澳洲俚語，不是英文版的火星文

Joy本來對自己的英文還算有自信，可是不知道為什麼她到了澳洲，卻覺得當地人講的話不太像英文，特別是兩個澳洲人在對話的時候，自己根本聽不懂，更別說要打成一片了，一直到她有機會和澳洲人當室友，才漸漸了解那不是火星文而是澳洲特有的俚語(Aussie slang)。 以下是一段Matty跟Juno在車裡的對話，讀第一遍，遇到不懂的詞彙先別急著查詢，猜猜看前後文，說不定你就會豁然開朗，第二遍參照白話版，第三遍閉起眼睛蓋上此頁，用聽的把它聽懂，直到立刻掌握整段的意思。

1. Ta

澳洲人使用ta的頻率非常高，像是中文口語的「謝啦！」。

2. thongs

在美國thongs意思是丁字褲， 但在澳洲的意思是人字拖，而 澳洲的丁字褲叫做G-string。

3. Fair dinkum

Dinkum是指真實，跟fair合用 近似於我們的「真的」。

4. arvo

澳洲人講的arvo除了指afternoon之外， 也可以代表avocado酪梨的意思。

5. cab sav

cabernet sauvignon(卡本內蘇維濃)是一 種葡萄品種，被大量利用為紅酒的原料。

6. goon

goon是一種在澳洲派對裡經常 會出現白(紅)酒，外面用紙箱保 護著，裡面是銀色的袋裝酒。

7. One-off 

意思是一次性的，或是一次性 的事件、例外事件。

8. Hen's 

告別單身派對。

9. servo

美國用法是gas station，但澳洲是 講service station，簡稱servo，汽 油在澳式英文他們說petrol。 

10. Woolies

澳洲最大的連鎖超市是 Woolworths，簡稱"Woolies"。

11. booze buses

澳洲把抽查酒駕的測試車 稱為booze buses。

12. Bogan

是一個常見的澳洲口語詞彙，它帶有一 定的貶義。它一般指來自社會底層的， 沒有受過太多教育，不太有文化的人。 和它相似的詞接近小市民、下里巴人。 

13. Macca's run

麥當勞在澳洲就叫"Macca's"。

14. it's your shout

I'll shout you a drink. 就是I'll buy you a drink. 的意思。
