介系詞就是看得越多，才錯得越少

英文介系詞向來是學生相當困擾的部分，這個動詞到底該接on、at、to還是of，很多時候無法用文法解釋，必須多看多練習，培養出英文的語感；以下五句都用錯了介系詞。

1. Please come and sit on my side. 請過來坐在我旁邊。
2. My view is similar with Mary’s. 我的看法跟瑪麗相似。
3. She has finished her introduction of the book. 她已經寫完了這本書的序言。
4. I’m sick at your nonsense. 我對你的胡說八道感到厭煩。
5. There are a lot of new products for show now. 現在有很多新產品正在展出。

 

Debugged

1. Please come and sit at/by my side.

side這個字經常與on連用，譬如「在路邊」是on the side of the road，「支持你」是on your side，但要表示「坐／站在…旁」，side是和at或by連用。

1. My view is similar to Mary’s.

similar是「相像的、相似的」，「與…相像／似」的句型是be similar to，介系詞應該用to，卻常被誤用成with或like。

1. She has finished her introduction to the book.

本句的introduction是指書或演講的「引言、序論」，後面的介系詞固定用to，而不是of。

1. I’m sick of your nonsense.

當sick用在表示「對…厭煩的」時，句型是be sick of something，介系詞of不可誤作at。

1. There are a lot of new products on show now.

for show是「裝樣子、作秀、為了炫耀」的意思，on show才是「在展示、被展覽」。
