Hurry up喊在心裡，催人的時候請淡定

想要淡化被催促者的負面情緒，方法在於：就算心裡很著急，也不直接說出hurry、rush、soon、deadline、 delay …等令人有壓迫感的字眼，甚至在句子中加入一些「友善字」，譬如grateful、look forward to，讓整個語氣變得委婉許多。不妨試試以下這幾種說法：

催回覆

I'm looking forward to your prompt reply.
我正期盼著很快收到您的回音。
look forward to後面須接Ving或名詞，而且請記得用現在式的句型（looking forward to），以表達「強烈期盼」的催促感。

We would be grateful for an early reply.
若您能早日回覆，我們會非常感激。
用「感謝」取代「催促」，是一種正向能 量的壓力。可以套用的句型如下：

We would be grateful
We would be thankful for + 名詞
We would appreciate

名詞 + would/will be (highly/much) appreciated

We would be grateful/thankful 
We would be obliged 
We would appreciate it    + if + you would/could + 動詞
It would be appreciated

催工作

We hope that this job will be finished by May 31.
我們希望這個工作能在5月31日前完成。

This project is only 20% done. You may consider making it your priority.
這個專案僅完成兩成，您不妨考慮將它列為優先。

I wonder if you could check the schedule and see if you are right on target.
我想請你確認進度，看看是否按計劃進行中。

工作上催進度，建議少用模糊的「快一點」，改以明確期限、完成比例等數字代替，降低指責人的情緒。也可以請對方自己看看是否符合進度，別總是由你來催促。

催車速

Are you going to make all the red lights?
你打算所有的紅燈都停嗎？

We "finally" reached five miles an hour.
我們的車速「終於」達到每小時5哩了。

趕著去搭機，司機卻慢吞吞地開車，要求「faster!」好像在下令，容易引發不悅，或許可以來點幽默的說法：make all the red lights是在抱怨「老在等紅燈」；講到finally的時候，語氣不妨加重，達到揶揄效果。
