才開工上班，老闆就說要check in with you，是想查勤還是核對工作內容？
在商業場合中“Check in with someone” 指 「向人報告，和人取得聯繫並確認事情進展順利」；在生活場合中，“Check in with someone”是「問候平安」。

來看怎麼應用：
• My boss checked in with me to make sure that everything was alright with the project.
我主管聯繫了我，以確認這個專案進行得順利。
真要說檢查，和check相關的片語是check up/check on/check over意思差距不大
• Please check up the data. 請核對一下這些數據。
• Please check on your work. 請檢查一下你們的工作。
• Would you mind checking over my report? 你介意幫我核對一下我的報告嗎？
另一個也常用check片語是check back，表示再聯繫
• All right, I will check back with you in an hour. 好，我一小時後再聯繫你啊
Check out的多重用法
稍微複雜的是Check out，它和Check in一樣，意思很多重：
1. 結帳離開
• Mr. White has checked out this morning. 懷特先生今天上午已經結帳走了。
2. 檢查
• I'm not sure whether the light has been turned off - I'll just go and check it out. 不知道燈關了沒有，我去看看好了。
3. 通過測試
• All the trainees checked out all right. 所有的受訓人員都符合要求。
4. 與事實吻合
• Everything he said checks out. 他說的一切經查證都和事實吻合。
5. 【口語】快來看！
• That movie was out of this world. You should check it out! 那部電影超棒的，你應該去看看！
要告訴別人一件事，或要對方看一個東西的時候，就可以用check it out這句話來引起注意。就像You know what/Guess what/Look也有同樣的功能。
