授與動詞 Dative Verbs
表示「買、拿、寄、留下」某東西給某人，授與動詞後面會接兩個受詞，直接受詞(direct object，通常是物)和間接受詞(indirect object，通常是人)。直接受詞擺在間接受詞前面時，需要加上介系詞(to、for、of)，若間接受詞擺在前面的話則不用。
主詞＋buy/ bring/ take/ give/ leave＋直接受詞＋to/for＋間接受詞
He sent a bouquet to her on Valentine’s Day.
他在情人節當天寄了一束花給她。
Please finish the assignment and bring it to me by next week.
請在下禮拜之前完成作業並交給我。
主詞＋buy/ bring/ take/ give/ leave＋間接受詞＋直接受詞
Mr. Jones left his only daughter a great fortune after he passed away.
瓊斯先生在去世後留了一大筆財產給他的獨生女。
She bought herself an expensive new bag to celebrate her own birthday.
為了慶祝自己生日，她買了一個昂貴的新包包。
