英語中的「法文外來語」隨處可見，有些甚至保留了法文的發音或拼法。
rendezvous
/ˈrɑːn.deɪ.vuː/ 會面地點；約會
來自法文的rendez-vous，字面義為present yourself。
facade
/fəˈsɑːd/ (建築物的)正面；假象
來自法文的façade，字面義為face。
deuce
/duːs/ 平局；紙牌二
來自法文的deux，字面義為two。
fiancé
/fiː.ɑːnˈseɪ/ 未婚夫
來自法文的fiancé，而fiancée則是未婚妻，因為按照法文名詞的陰陽性變化，陰性名詞通常會在字尾加上e。
encore
/ˈɑːŋ.kɔːr/ 加演節目
來自法文的encore，字面義為again。
adieu
