不只運動，sport這些用法更道地：炫富、輸得起、你人真好...

他以為老闆說他很會運動，忙著解釋自己不太擅長運動。其實，這句話和和運動無關。

You are a good sport.
（Ｘ）你很會運動。
（Ｏ）你這人真好。

真要稱讚人很會運動可以用：

●She excels at sports. 她在運動方面很優秀。
●John is an athletic boy. He is good at running. 約翰體魄健壯。他擅長跑步。

Be a sport =有風度

用Sport稱讚人好，和kind或nice「好」有什麼不一樣？

kind的好是指人很親切、寛容；nice是友善、有教養；Good sport的好是一種有風度、願賭服輸，或者很樂意去做別人不願意做的事的那種人，都可以用這個字，很日常的用語。來看幾個情境。

情境1：

A good sport，是指輸得起的人。

I know you're disappointed to have lost the game, but try to be a good sport, OK?
我知道你很輸了很沮喪，但還是要有點風度不是嗎？

情境2：

Be a sport很接近我們中文口語裡的，你這人真好。說了這句話，多半接下來就會接著要求，是比較老式的用法，英文字典裡的解釋是：

To be helpful and amiable. In this usage, the phrase usually precedes a request.

● Be a sport and get me another drink, will you? 請幫個忙，再給我一杯好嗎？
● Go on! Be a sport. 一起來吧！（邀請別人做一件事，但對方猶豫時，可以這樣說）

Sport one's wealth 炫富

Sport當動詞用時，常出現在新聞裡：「炫耀；賣弄」，近幾年來流行的一個詞「炫富」，英文就用sport one's wealth。來看一個例句：
