寫作高分關鍵：Be More Specific

多益考試除了大家熟知的聽力及閱讀測驗外，還有口說及寫作考試，而根據多益官方統計資料顯示，台灣考生在寫作這個項目能夠寫出清晰、有效表達的文字，但無法衝高分數的一個癥結點在於，對自己主要論點的支持論述不夠，也就是在論證自己的立場時難以說服閱讀者，其中的關鍵在於be specific，也就是用字精準及舉出實際細節，接下來跟著本期專欄一起練習怎麼精準寫作。

什麼是精準的字？

寫作雖然跟說話一樣都是要達到溝通的目的，但有些我們常說出口的字，放進文章裡卻會顯得詞不達意，甚至讓文章看起來太過鬆散，一起來看看以下4個很常見卻該避開的字。

怎麼寫出精準？

指出缺點

vague(or general) idea: The shared bathroom in the dorm is dirty. (公用浴室很髒)

specific points: There is a lot of hair on the floor and trash in the sink. (明確指出地板上很多頭髮、洗臉盆裡有垃圾)

指出優點

vague(or general) idea: The environment in the dorm is comfortable. (宿舍很舒適)

specific points: The room is big and there are windows that let in natural light. (明確指出空間夠大、有窗有日照)

描述人際關係

vague(or general) idea: My family and I are close. (我跟家人的關係很緊密)

specific points: I share everything with my family and we never judge each other. (分享每件事、不評斷彼此)

評論食物

vague(or general) idea: The dessert is delicious. (甜點很美味)

specific points: The dessert contains milk and cheese to make it creamy and smooth. (含有牛奶跟起司，口感綿密滑順)
