你花的是哪一種錢？

這三個字都是「費用」的意思，在中文裡，我們可以在費用前加上所花費的名目，如律師費、交通費等，但在英文裡各種費用用法是非常不一樣的。

Charge主要指勞務收取的費用，像是行李超重、租借物品、住宿費。例如：

What is the charge for overweight (baggage)?  行李超重費怎麼算？

The charge for a single room at this hotel is $100 dollars per night.  這間旅館的單人房每晚100 美元。

Charge也可做動詞，意思是收取費用。例如：

The hotel charged me for the bottled water.  旅館向我收瓶裝水的費用。

Fee 是付給專業人士的費用，如律師費（lawyer's fee），醫生會診費（doctor's fee），家教費（tutoring fee），諮詢費（consulting fee），學費（tuition fee）。例如：

My lawyer's hourly fee is $150 dollars.  我的律師計費是每小時150元美金。

 手續費、入場費、停車費也用fee。例如：

 The membership fee of the gym is $6000 a year.  這家健身房的會員費是一年6千元台幣。

Fare 是交通工具的費用，如bus fare公車費，taxi fare 計程車費，例如：

The bus fare to the National Palace Museum is $80.

去故宮博物院的公車費是80元。■
