「比較大」是larger，「大10倍」怎麼說？

1.The more you practice, the better your English will be.

「越…，就越…」的句型是「The+比較級+主詞+動詞, the+比較級+主詞+動詞」，前一句是表示程度的關係副詞子句，後一句則是主要子句，主詞及動詞不可省略。

2.Learning a foreign language is not as easy as you think.

as…as是「像…一樣…」，第一個as是副詞，第二個as則是連接詞，用以引導後面的子句。

3.My husband is twenty years senior to me.

字尾為-ior的單字，如句中senior，後面不加連接詞than，而是搭配介系詞to；這句也可以說：My husband is twenty years older than me.

4.Wow! Your dining table is ten times larger than mine.

這句出現兩個錯誤：一是受到中文不必講出「大」這個字語意就通，因此漏掉larger形容詞比較級；另一是搞混了my和mine，my是「我的」，後面接名詞，mine則是指前面所提到的「我的某個東西」。

5.I’m on a diet, so I will eat only half of my cake.

表示某事物的一半，常用half of這個片語，of可以省略，half of前面不可加冠詞a或the。
